cultural association KAiKU and the Nomadic Academy of Experimental Arts will
grab the winter-covered roots like a spring rain.

Audiovisuaalisen taiteen festivaali AAVE – Alternative AudioVisual Event
järjestetään ensimmäistä kertaa Malmitalon kulttuurikeskuksessa 15.4. –
18.4.2010.
Kieltäytyen tunnustamasta genrerajoja, AAVE täyttää aukon Helsingin liikkuvan
kuvan festivaalikartalla yhdistäessään live-cineman, kokeellisen elokuvan ja
lyhytelokuvan. Musiikki, liikkuva kuva ja tanssi käyvät vuoropuhelua
Rajauksia-teoksessa. Sosiaalisen tarinankerronan workshopin tulee pitämään
Jorge Rodriguez Barcelonasta. Teoksia on nähtävillä lähes kaikista
ilmansuunnista – Suomesta, Japanista, Etelä-Amerikasta, Espanjasta, Italiasta
ja muista maista.
Kaikkiin festivaalin esityksiin ja työpajaan on vapaa pääsy!
AAVE refuses to acknowledge the borders of genres by bringing live cinema, the
experimental film, and the jewels of the short film on the silver screen from
Finland, Japan, South America, Spain, Italy and other countries. Dance,
live-music and moving image is combined in a mutual work by a composer, moving
image artist and dancer in the intermedial improvisation “Borderings”. The
social storytelling workshop explores the possibilities of mobile phone cameras
in making cinematic narratives. The workshop is open to everyone and it is held
by Jorge Rodriguez, a representative of Algobueno –organisation from Barcelona.
The whole festival is free of charge!

(1964), yhteistyössä The Japan Foundationin kanssa.
Welcome to the opening of AAVE-festival on Thursday 15.4.2010 at 6pm in
Malmitalo! During the opening day we will be screening the masterpiece of
Hiroshi Teshigahara Woman in the Dunes (Suna No Onna, 1964), brought to
Malmitalo in collaboration with The Japan Foundation.
