Performing Popular Culture – Between Art and Entertainment at Kiasma Theatre, Helsinki, Finland 2-4.12

Welcome to Oblivia’s seminar Performing Popular Culture – Between Art and Entertainment at Kiasma Theatre, Helsinki, Finland 2-4.12

The seminar addresses a critical look at entertainment, popular culture and art today. In a time where the boundaries between art and culture is blurred and where art is enthusiastically considered an instrument both for social and commercial means, Oblivia takes a stance for slow thinking about art and performance, by opening up the discussion with international keynote speakers. In the evenings the trilogy is shown and an Oblivia 10 years reception ends the event.

Keynote speakers: Knut Ove Arntzen (N), Ragnheidur Skúládottir (ISL), Francis Mckee (UK), Esa Kirkkopelto (FIN). In discussions: Ragnheidur Skuladottir (ISL), Jesper de Neergaard (DK), Nora Hämäläinen (FIN).
