Spring 2013 Open Lectures of CuMMA, HIAP & KuvA are announced!

This spring brings a great amount of interesting, international visitors from the field of art to Helsinki.
Three contributors, CuMMA, HIAP and KuvA have gotten together to introduce a great variety of artists, designers and authors to the public. The lectures discuss the practice of the chosen visitors and important, contemporary issues of art and society and are open for everyone to join.

22nd of May, 6pm-8-pm: CuMMA Discourse Series with Stefano Harney at Media Factory, Aalto Arts Arabia

CuMMA (Curating, Managing and Mediating Art) is a multidisciplinary Master’s degree program at Aalto University focusing on contemporary art and its publics. The Discourse Series started last autumn and continues to bring international guests to Finland.

HIAP (Helsinki International Artist Program) is an international artist residency centre in Helsinki. HIAP Talks debate the topic of public matters during 2013.

Kuvataideatakemia (Academy of Fine Arts) is part of Taideyliopisto (University of the Arts Helsinki) and offers education in fine arts. With a strong international outlook, it is also a pioneer in artistic research. The Wednesday Lectures of spring 2013 focus on artists as researchers and experts / critics of public spaces.
